Questions donors ask us.
Yes. The Fire Fighters Foundation of Houston is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity. You’ll receive a tax-deductible receipt by email immediately after your donation. Our EIN and Form 990 are publicly available on request.
More than 90 cents of every dollar goes directly to life-saving equipment for the Houston Fire Department. The Foundation is fully volunteer-run. There are no paid staff or executive salaries. Administrative and fundraising costs are covered separately.
Absolutely. You can cancel, pause, or change your monthly contribution at any time by contacting the Foundation or using the link in any donation receipt. No questions asked.
When you give in honor or in memory of someone, you can provide a mailing address for the honoree or their family. The Foundation sends a beautifully printed acknowledgment card letting them know a gift was made in their name. The dollar amount is never shared.
Many Houston employers match charitable donations. After giving, check with your HR department and submit the match request. We’ll provide all documentation needed. Matching gifts can double or triple your impact.
Every equipment purchase the Foundation makes is logged publicly with vendor, date, and dollar amount. We maintain a twenty-year ledger: rescue boats, cancer-prevention extractors, thermal cameras, body cameras, radios, turnout gear. Your gift buys real items delivered to real stations.
Yes. The Foundation accepts stock transfers, donor-advised fund grants, qualified charitable distributions from IRAs (if you’re 70½ or older), bequests, and estate gifts. Please contact the Foundation directly to coordinate these donations.
