The Foundation reports its numbers in public, and the 2024 figures were the strongest in its history. Total donations came to $493,591.99. Awards and grants issued directly to the Houston Fire Department came to $171,239.50.
What the money bought.
The 2024 ledger records infrared cameras in two batches, eighteen units in late October and seven more in early November, both from Metro Fire Apparatus Specialist. In September, 201 carbon monoxide detectors from First Alert. In November, 150 Curpalex traction splints from Bound Tree Medical. In January, a Motorola personnel application for the department’s radio system.
The cumulative picture.
Through the end of 2024, total Foundation support for the Houston Fire Department since 2006 stood at $3,292,002. Of that, the overwhelming majority is equipment. Non-equipment support across the same period accounts for $133,465.36, which is what more than ninety cents on the dollar looks like added up over twenty years.
